What does it involve?

Excavating involves any and all things digging on your property.  If you are looking to clear the land of trees, dig trenches for new water lines, or change the foundation for a building project, we have you covered.  While excavating includes a large number of different project, our most common projects include land clearing for site development.  At NYC Land Clearing, we ensure the safety of our clients and team above all else.  From start to finish, we offer competitive prices, fast turnaround, and high safety standards.  Don't go with the company that is looking to get the job done ASAP, go with the company that is looking to get the job done right!

Site Preparation:

Excavating contractors are required to inspect the site before you begin any construction on top of it.  In addition to a consulting arborist, excavating contractors will be able to diagnose any faults of issues right off the bat.  Without a proper inspection first, there may be detrimental faults that will cost you more in the long run.  While anyone is able to rent the equipment that excavators use, it is highly recommended that you DO NOT take the project into your own hands.  Excavators spend many years perfecting their craft to be able to provide the best service possible.  An excavation project is not a DIY project.

Site preparation can include anything from inspecting the land for debris that is not yet dealt with, to determining if there is enough clearance on the land.  Small amounts of debris can add up, which makes it difficult to begin the process if not dealt with swiftly.  In addition to rocks and tree debris, the land will next need to be sloped and graded.  Without a properly sloped piece of foundation, your site will run the risk of water running back into the foundation.  The site needs to be leveled, to ensure that water is flowing in the opposite direction of the construction you plan to build on top.

The next step in inspecting the land includes the soils.  In order to develop a large building or structure on top of land, the soil will need to be able to handle the weight.  Our excavating team can compact the soil and earth beneath your property, which leads to less risk of shifting.  Without properly compacted soil, your developments may begin to slowly slide in unfavorable ways over it's course.

Different Types of Excavators:

Depending on the project you have in mind, we have a diverse team ready to tackle the job.  Refer to the bulleted list below to see which type of excavator equipment our team uses that best relates to the project you have in mind.

  1. Miners:  Skilled and experienced in digging long trenches and pits.  This is ideal for burying new pipes, water systems, cables, or if you are looking to have a new walkway.
  2. Dragline:  Large scale projects, such as road excavations and pile civil engineering.
  3. Suction: Containing a water jet, this excavator loosens the dirt on site then vacuums up the debris.  Ideal for debris clean ups and fragile digging projects (ex. digging around pipes).
  4. Skid Steer:  Mainly used on residential and private properties.  This smaller machine provides the right amount of power to get started on digging a pool and site clearings.
